According to Dutch magazine Party, the series is expected to revisit the devastating loss of her sister Nicoline, who passed away in 2023 at the age of just 52. Nicoline was an immensely important figure in Mabel’s life, and her death came as another crushing blow after the earlier loss of Mabel’s husband, Prince Friso.

Understandably, Princess Mabel would prefer not to have such grief revisited in a dramatized form for television, especially now that she has begun to find some peace after years of sorrow.
